Lambs and Lemons March 2, 2010: Lambs and Lemons Unite a Family in Peru
Felix Ramos had to leave his family for much of the year just to make ends meet. But with the gift of lambs Felix is able to stay home with his family and provide, even expanding his farm to include fruit trees like lemons. Felix is now able to give his children the education he never completed himself and at the same time build the fertility of his land for the future.

Soccer Match
March 5, 2010: World Ark: Soccer Balls Kick Away a Global Divide
Passing on the Gift can take many forms and Sam Bunn, a 12-year-old soccer player from Laramie, WY, created a unique pass on by collecting 86 soccer balls to send to Rwanda. By involving his community in this effort, Sam found an opportunity to educate others about Rwanda and Heifer’s work to bring hope.

Hope in Rwanda March 8, 2010: World Ark: Reconciliation and Hope in Rwanda
Five Heifer International Board Members visited Heifer's East Africa Dairy Development Project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to see first hand how rural milk cooperatives are transforming a country that was once devastated by violence. As one board member, Charles Stewart said, "This project has been a major part of helping toward reconciliation, post-genocide and war."

March 11, 2010: International Women’s Day – Dare to Dream
When Juana Francisca Montes began to dream of independence the odds were against her. But along with 14 women from her village she now has over a hundred cattle and a bright future. Juana is now Passing on the Gift to empower other women to achieve their dreams, too.

 March 20, 2010: Young Man Finds New Opportunities in Sierra Leone
ike many unemployed youth, Mohamed Bangura was considering a move from his rural community to try his chances for employment in the city. A group of women in his community provided him with another opportunity — to become a Community Animal Health Worker. Now Mohamed fills a vital role in his village ensuring that the animals that provide their livelihoods are healthy and productive.

Philippine Family Finds Hope

 March 23, 2010: After Fleeing for Their Life, a Couple Finds Hope
When the Ramos family fled to escape a mounting conflict between the Philippine government and Communist guerrillas, they left everything behind. Safe from war, the Ramos family had to rebuild their lives. With Heifer’s help they have more than doubled their income and are building a sustainable future for their family.
