Though he is still only in the 5th grade, Celso Calderón Pineda from Honduras loves to help take care of the cow his family received from our supporters.

Celso Calderón Pineda from Honduras loves to help care for the cow his family received from Heifer. His mother, especially grateful for Heifer donors says, "Our diet has improved. Before, we could only buy a quart of milk every 15 or 18 days. Now Celso milks the cow, and we get one gallon every day."

A generous couple is contributing half of the cost to fund three projects in Honduras if we can raise the other half from our dedicated, loyal donors.

So please give as generously as you can to make sure we raise the full amount needed to receive these critical matching funds.

Here are the three Honduras projects your gift will directly support:

Sustainable Food Systems in Copán and Lempira will help thousands of poor families improve their nutrition and income through the placement of cattle, hens, fish, goats, sheep, rabbits, bee hives and fruit trees, along with training in their care.
Planting Seeds of Hope in Southern Honduras will empower families in more than 90 communities by providing cattle, poultry, bees and seeds, along with training in their care.
Strengthening Rural Micro Enterprises in Honduras will take place over a three-year period and help rural families transform their farms into small businesses by marketing surpluses of milk, homemade dairy products, honey, pollen, eggs and fish.

Each family we are able to help will one day help another family by Passing on the Gift, your support will be multiplied many times over.

But we must raise a total of $1.5 million to fully fund all three important projects, so please make the most generous contribution you can at this time.

Because of the importance of reaching the $1.5 million match as quickly as possible, many efforts are under way to reach this goal. Gifts received after this goal has been met will go toward the entire mission of Heifer International.
